AI and Electronic Health Records - What is the Potential?
The healthcare sector is placing growing emphasis on leveraging AI to reduce administrative tasks. Thought-provoking presentations and discussions among industry parties are paving the way for innovative, effective solutions that benefit all.

The realm of possibilities for AI and record-keeping was the theme of the event hosted by Health2B Norway, Helse Sør-Øst RHF, and Oslo Municipality, called “Open AI and Patient Record,” which we participated in last week. There, engaging discussions were held with other stakeholders developing AI-based documentation solutions for the healthcare sector!

We all have a responsibility to contribute to innovation and collaboration that ensures the safe, efficient, and sustainable development of health services for the future.

So, what is the realm of possibilities?

Through presentations and dialogue, it became clear how great potential AI has to streamline workflows and reduce the administrative burden for healthcare professionals. AI can free up time by automating documentation and ensuring more accurate and structured patient records, allowing healthcare professionals to focus more on patient care and less on time-consuming paperwork.

Several innovative solutions were presented, including the use of AI for automatically generating patient notes, analyzing large data sets for decision support, and creating more user-friendly systems for record-keeping. We also had the opportunity to share our experiences and challenges, discussing important topics such as data quality, security, and privacy. It is evident how more user-friendly documentation systems can reduce the frustration associated with the complex, time-consuming solutions that characterize current practices.

The work continues.

The event provided us with new insights and inspiration to keep developing solutions that can improve the daily lives of healthcare professionals and deliver better health services for patients. It is clear that collaboration between technology companies, healthcare stakeholders, and authorities is key to successfully implementing AI in healthcare.

We look forward to further collaboration and new initiatives that can drive this exciting development forward!
